About this deal

Cordless vacuums have become increasingly popular, so it’s no surprise Numatic have a cordless version of the Henry. It has many of the same features as the corded version, but comes with a 36V battery and is one of the few cordless vacs to have a bagged design. While the traditional Henry has an A class energy efficiency rating, other models don’t match it. The worst is actually the Harry, which has a C class energy efficiency rating. It is important because a higher consumption vacuum cleaner will use more, costing you more in power. They aren’t as environmentally friendly either, so if being E-friendly is important to you the basic Henry is the better model. Size & Shape I tested it out predominantly on the skirting boards in our home, which had been neglected for quite a long time, I am ashamed to say. I was really impressed with it, and this tool is in fact something I use everyday because it is just so useful. Crevice Tool Before and After The HVR200-11 uses 620W of power, making it one of the more energy efficient models on the market. The motor also provides excellent suction and is highly durable, while the large 9 litre capacity means you won’t need to empty it often. Other features include TriTex filters, HepaFlo bags and a cord-rewind system. This tool was also really handy when it came to cleaning the boot of our car (more on that below), as well as the carpet underneath the bed that the floor tool couldn’t reach (as previously mentioned). Crevice Tool

Speaking of the upholstery brush, this is the attachment that is best suited for cleaning chairs, sofas, car seats, and stairs. Basically, anything that has a pretty flat surface that is too small to use the main floor tool should be vacuumed using the upholstery brush. I found it really effective on the stairs, as the bristles are great at agitating the dust and dirt whilst also reaching the very corner of the steps. Upholstery Brush Before and After The battery takes 150 minutes to recharge, which again is up there with the best. You can buy an extra battery if you want to double up on cleaning time, but considering we never ran out of juice, we don’t believe it’s necessary for any home with four-five bedrooms or less. She’s been well designed with a small profile and cylindrical shape which makes her easy to store when you’re not using her. However, within that is plenty of power and space to store large amounts of dust and dirt. There is essentially no difference between the Hetty and Henry, other than her appearance. You can read our full review of this machine here.In this day and age, there is a vast range of hard floor surfaces: quarry tiles, PVC tiles, linoleum and now a vast range of laminate surfaces all of which need a fast and friendly means of maintenance. litres dry dust bin capacity, which is a huge amount of space. Wet, the Charles holds 9 litres. An easy-to-operate switch goes between the two. Aside from the cordless design, it has a 6 litre capacity (which is huge for a cordless), power boost mode, and HepaFlo bags. Like other Henry models, it comes with several tools, such as a crevice nozzle and dusting brush. The bagged design also means it could be a good choice for those with allergies. When it comes to cleaning stairs, Hetty is perhaps not the best. Firstly, even though the hose is a decent length, I found that it was not long enough to leave the machine at either the bottom or top of the staircase. This meant that I had to physically carry the Hetty with me in one hand as I climbed the stairs, vacuuming as I went. Now, I did not find this to be much of an issue, but if you have mobility or strength issues, this definitely will be something that will cause you grief. I was able to rest the machine on one of the corner steps at the top of my staircase, but it was a bit precarious, balancing on the edge:

In the dry it has a hefty storage capacity of 15 litres and a wide range of attachments means it can switch effortlessly between different tasks. It really is a vacuum which can rise to meet just about every challenge you can think of. If you want the no-nonsense design of a Henry vacuum combined with the convenience of cordless, the HVB160 is an option to consider. It’s more expensive than the corded Henry and doesn’t have the longest run-time, but the strong suction and large capacity mean it’s much better suited to heavy cleaning than most cordless models. The storage is something you don’t realise you need from a vacuum cleaner. When you finally get it, you wonder how you lived without it all these years. While this setup works well enough, experience has taught me that the various sections of the pole can become stiff and difficult to pull apart over time. To avoid this, I recommend pulling them apart at the end of each clean, and loosely rejoining them for storage. The Henry range have tremendous amounts of colour to them – but only one (very distinctive) style. If it has that big happy face, if the nose is the vacuum hose, and if it perpetually, moronically, and frustratingly never stops grinning? It’s a Henry.
